The Original JJ's opened May 25, 2000. Owner Jeanne LaChance loved to cook and her husband Ronnie loved her cooking. He was always saying, "Honey, I love your food; however, I can't eat the same dish for an entire month". Jeanne had a hard time cooking for just 2 people and there weren't any restaurants in town that specialized in "Home Cooking", so opening JJ's Eatery was the perfect solution.
The restaurant started with lunch and dinner and added breakfast in 2002. Their signature breakfast dish is their homemade Corned Beef Hash. "We slow cook the corned beef for 6 hours, cool it down, and with the old fashioned hand grinder (the one your grandmother used) we grind and then season." The corned beef hash is featured in JJ's "Irish Benny".
The atmosphere at JJ's Eatery is casual and fun...serving 5 star food with 3 star pricing...giving customers a great deal more for a good deal less. Two of Jeanne's daughters, Christina and Kelley, joined her in 2005 and have become a major asset to the business. Ricky Bill, who cooked for the Bell Buoy for 30 years, came on board two years ago and lends his years of experience to the extensive menu.
JJ's Eatery offers home cooked food in a casual, hometown atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you go in for a meal and end up running into an old friend, or at least making some new ones.
